Feels like I'm watching an actual action movie, so fantastic. Also it's been three weeks since I started jamming to gorillaz songs.
This was the video that made me fascinated by them. Almost 10 years ago now if you can believe it. But this made me hunger fir the "Story" of the Gorillaz.

I feel that Gorillaz is in a way, remnants of a bygone Era of music. Their music (at least I feel) like early 2000's alternative rock with the production quality of music nowadays.
@Garfewloid 5000 Before 2005 everything was very set in boxes, many people don’t realize that. Today it’s the new normal in popular music to not be attached to a genre. Gorillaz would be considered a combo of electronica, trip hop, hip-hop, britpop/indie and alternative, which at the time when it came out sounded very strange, and there are still very much hip-hop purists, not gonna lie, I’m probably one of those that believes that it’s a NYC thing, but obviously there are great rappers and culture from Sweden to Italy now. Check out TP Allstars - Dream on! Amazing.

This, Tranz and 19-2000 are great examples of Gorillaz songs that start out small but with the addition of parts just grow to be fully loaded up by the end.

I imagine watching this back in 2010 in something like MTV in the middle of the day, randomly, would have been a life changing experience.
It had the same effect as first seeing Chemical Brothers' Star Guitar's music video playing a few years earlier

I remember listening to this song when I was 14, it's been 8 years now, it was the first electronic/dance genre song I knew, and it was through Gorillaz that I discovered music and artists of similar genres back then: Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Avicii, Tiestö, Imagine Dragons.. Pure gold.

This song with this clip I think is timeless. One of those songs that's become forever hits. There's nothing that would change or lessen the experience of listening through it. 2010, 2022, 2100 it won't really matter. Even Willis is doing a really good job here, and I'm not much of a fan.

In case anybody's wondering.. The whole 2D's mask thing is a reference to the 1993 movie "A Perfect World" in wich a young boy is taken as a hostage by a convict. The director of the film is... Clint Eastwood.

I feel this energy so much. I love being in the car with this song playing in the cd player and singing to this song with the windows open. I love singing 2-D's part while being slouched in my car seat and having the wind fly in my hair. It may not have been as a carefree feeling for anyone in the Stylo car but it is for me 🎶

GUYS, SHOW SOME APPRECIATION FOR THIS GLORIOUS ANIMATION HERE: Looking back at this from watching it the day it came out, I'm really starting to notice the fine detail within the animation. The way Murdoc slightly nudges 2D to direct his attention to Cyborg Noodle malfunctioning, 2D mouthing words to Murdoc as the bounty hunter gets closer, even small things that really portray their characters through their personal animations such as 2D slowly ducking his head down in the beginning when the police were coming or when the cop car was shot off to the side of the road and 2D shot Murdoc that questioning look. All of it is EXQUISITELY done. Seriously, props to the animators on this. These small details are what REALLY stick out and make an animation believable and life-like, and they nailed it!
@Planet Xtreme i see it but i'm pretty sure that's from the car's vibrations going really fast but then again if it was like that then the glass shards would continue to roll around

@Skywalking Studioz When I read your comment the first time, it was unedited and I just gave up trying to help, but a new reply from Troy LeMoine brought me back to this thread. I personally don't care that the animators were 'lazy' in this case, this was probably the best they could do with the time they had; the glass is most likely a simulation tracked to the background footage. If they had more time it could have been perfected, probably.

I remember when this song came out when I was 8 I’m now 19. I remember liking it but forgot to write down the name of the song but I always had a flash back of the red truck and the guy driving the car. Fast forward 9 years I start listening to gorillaz and 2 years later the flashback returned and the driver reminded me of the way one of the characters from gorillaz. As of today I finally found the song I’ve been looking for YEARS

The Gorillaz in this are so beautifully animated, their movements and the subtle details given to them flow so naturally. Murdocs twitching in his face along with his facial expressions and his reaction to Bruce Willis when he pulls up to window is so natural and humanlike. BEST ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO in my opinion 👌
